Over 162 homeless animals from the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA found homes in December.

December saw a higher rate of adoptions than at the same time in 2011 and 2012. And of all the months, it ranked second only to July 2013, which saw about 200 donations.

Over 1,800 animals found new homes in 2013. The SPCA received about 1,000.

CEO Marion Emo says it’s all about flow: when animals are adopted, it creates more space to receive animals from Hamilton Animal Services.
