SpaceX makes history
SpaceX goes where no private company has ever gone before.
Just before 10 am the company’s Dragon Capsule was grabbed by the International Space Station’s Canadarm 2, making it the first time a private company vessel has ever docked with the station.
The unmanned Dragon capsule is delivering a half-ton of supplies to the station. In the future rockets like this will replace the space shuttle as the main link between NASA and the Space Station.
Commercial crafts will be capable of carrying passengers, opening the door to eventual space tourism.
