Sound of Music kick off party

Every year in June, the city of Burlington comes alive with the largest music event of the year, the Sound of Music Festival.

Over 200 thousand people from all across the country converge on Spencer Smith Park to take in the festivities.

This year’s festival kicks off with the first ever-ticketed event.

Performances include bands such as Weezer, Collective Soul and Our Lady Peace.

The festival is in it’s 36th year and has featured performers such as Serena Ryder, The Trews, Tokyo Police Club and many more.

Nick Dixon was the official emcee for Saturday’s launch.
