To Ron Joyce Stadium, where the Westdale Warriors battled Welland Notre Dame in the SOSSA region championship game. Just 3 and a half minutes into the game, Warriors hit paydirt with Owen Angus Yamada who springs free for an 8 yard touchdown. Westdale Quarterback Sam Malavolta also plays some defense and does he ever. In the second quarter, Malavolta makes a diving interception. And later in the quarter, a Malavolta pass to Joey Ricottone for a TD.

The Westdale Warriors go on to win 20-11 and advance to their first ever OFSSA Bowl game. Congratulations to them. In other high school scores, two-time defending champion, St. Thomas More senior girls have advanced to the Quad A provincial basketball tournament. They defeated Burlington Nelson in the GHAC championship game, 69-42.
