Son charged with attempted murder of mother in Burlington

A 20-year-old Burlington man has been arrested after his mother was found outside lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds.

Halton police were called to Bunkerhill Place in Burlington around 3 p.m. last Friday after receiving reports that a man armed with a knife was chasing and stabbing a woman.

Police found a 51-year-old woman lying on the ground across the street from her home with multiple stab wounds all over her body.

Officers immediately arrested the man and seized a knife.

Investigators say the woman had lost a significant amount of blood and was transported to Hamilton General Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. She remains in hospital but is expected to be okay.

Dorian Nicolaou has been charged with attempted murder.
