Social media threats made against McMaster University and Mohawk College

Hamilton police are investigating an alleged threat against McMaster University and Mohawk College that was made over social media over the weekend.

According to statements from both schools, the comments, which were posted on a social media thread, threatened both Hamilton post secondary institutions for Monday.

According to a statement on McMaster’s website, the school will be “operating normally on Monday.” (Nov.8).

Mohawk College said in a statement that police “have not given any indication that this represents a credible threat to safety on college campuses.”

Hamilton police say they are managing an investigation into the threat.
