Snowbirds jet crashes in Kamloops, British Columbia

Local Media in Kamloops, British Columbia are reporting that one of the Canadian forces Snowbirds crashed this morning. One resident recorded the crash on their phone.

It shows the plane heads straight up and then suddenly dips straight down then suddenly both pilots eject before the plane crashes in a residential neighborhood near the Kamloops airport. Royal Canadian Air Force is confirming that a member of the Snowbirds has died, another has serious injuries
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that one member of the CF Snowbirds team has died and one has sustained serious injuries. We can confirm that we have contacted all primary family members of those involved. More information will be communicated in the near future.

There is been no word yet on what caused the crash.

The Snowbirds are now grounded until further notice. They were on a cross country tour to salute Canadians doing their part to fight the spread of COVID-19. This unique mission has been called “Operation Inspiration”.
