Toronto police have confirmed they have found Christopher Peloso, the husband of George Smitherman.

It is believed he was found near the train tracks at the train tracks Landsdowne and Dupont, and needed medical attention.

39-year old Peloso was last seen Monday afternoon after leaving the couples home in mid-town Toronto.

For six years he has been by the side of his husband former MPP and Mayoral candidate George Smitherman and at the home where they are raising two children.

Smitherman ran against Toronto Mayor Rob Ford in the 2010 election.

When news of the disappearance became known other prominent politicians took to Twitter. Provincial NDP leader Andrea Horwath wrote: Wishing strength to G Smitherman and his family at what must be a difficult time, hoping for a safe return. Federal Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau wrote: Thoughts and prayers to G Smitherman.
