It was a hot, humid day on Sunday but while the beach is an ideal place to cool off, you’ll have to swim at your own risk.
Niagara Region said the water at 16 beaches are considered unsafe for swimming.
Beaches are posted ‘unsafe’ or ‘closed’ when water tests show unacceptable levels of the e-coli bacteria.
The beach could also be dangerous because of floating debris, oil, excessive weeds, bad odours or turbid water.
Those who choose to swim could develop an infection that may affect your ears, eyes, nose, throat or skin.
