Six people charged after Hamilton police connect two recent homicides

Hamilton police have arrested four males in connection with two recent homicides. A male and female were also charged with firearm and drug offences.
On Aug. 6, police say two suspects approached three people standing in a parking lot plaza at 288 Mud St. The suspects fired several shots at the trio resulting in the death of 17-year-old Keden Bond, life altering injuries to a 25-year-old man and injuries to a 35-year-old man who was released from hospital.
On Sept. 14, two men were hanging out at the parking lot at 239 King St. West when they were approached by a third male. After a short verbal altercation shots were fired at the pair. Sabir Omer, 19, died at the scene. The second man was not injured.
In a press release, Hamilton police say they were able to draw a link between the two homicides and investigators believe a number of individuals were involved with executing the murder of Sabir Omer.
On Oct. 14, police executed four warrants in Hamilton and Halton and arrested six people. They also seized four semi-automatic handguns, a fully automatic machine pistol, bulletproof vests, silencers, ammunition and approximately $185,000 in cocaine and fentanyl.
Nineteen-year-old Trayonte Eccleston of Halton was arrested and charged with first degree murder and attempted murder in the Bond Homicide and first degree murder and attempted murder in the Omer homicide.
Eighteen-year-old Anthony La and 19-year-old Jonas Campanaro, both from Hamilton, and a 17-year-old male from Halton have been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the Omer homicide.
Nineteen-year-old Selena Silva of Halton and a 17-year-old male from Hamilton have been charged with numerous firearm and drug charges.
