Six downtown Hamilton robberies under investigation

Hamilton Police are investigating six street robberies that have happened in the span of four days. 

Detectives say the incidents took place between Aug. 21 and Aug. 24 in the area bordered by Main St., Ferguson Ave., King St., and Caroline St. 

In all cases, officers say the victims were either walking alone or waiting for public transit when they were approached by a man on a bicycle.

Police say he took their cellphone or attempted to grab their backpack.

No victims were injured.

Police say they have no information to suggest the incidents are related.

Suspect, clothing and bicycle descriptions given by witnesses have all been different.

Police are telling people to be aware of their surroundings.
