A shooting in Mississauga have prompted the province’s Special Investigations Unit to be called in.

Peel Regional Police responded to Golden Orchard Drive and Grand Forks Road at 1am Saturday.

Police say there was an interaction with a 26-year old man who was shot during the confrontation.

The man has been taken to St. Michael’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The S.I.U. is called in when there is an incident with police that results in a person being killed or seriously injured.
