SIU probing Grimsby crash

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is trying to pinpoint what led to a crash in Grimsby by a vehicle being followed by the OPP.

Police say the driver of a speeding car took the Casablanca Road exit, and lost control on Winston Road. A 23-year-old St Catharines man had to be pulled from the wreck by firefighters. He was taken to hospital in Hamilton with minor injuries.

As part of their mandate, the SIU investigates serious injuries when there’s police involvement. There’s no word yet on charges.
