SIU looking into Cambridge accident that ejected driver
A crash in Cambridge that left a driver injured is being investigated by the province’s police watchdog.
The Special Investigations Unit says Waterloo Regional Police were called Monday night about a vehicle being driven in a dangerous manner.
When officers responded, they reported the vehicle fled, but soon crashed into a light standard and the driver was ejected.
The SIU says the driver was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
The SIU is an arm’s-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
