A shooting in Mississauga have prompted the province's Special Investigations Unit to be called in.

The SIU is asking witnesses to come forward as it investigates a crash in Brant last month.

Ontario Provincial Police tried to pull over a driver for some sort of Highway Traffic Act violation around 8 p.m. on June 27.

According to a news release from the SIU, the driver did not stop.

The vehicle went into a ditch and rolled over at the intersection of Old Greenfield Rd. and Newport Rd.

The driver, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A passenger who was in the vehicle was not injured.

The Special Investigations Unit is asking anyone with information to contact them.

The SIU investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
