SIU investigation in Ottawa after man’s death

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after an Ottawa man died in hospital following a confrontation with police.

A family spokesman says 37-year-old Abdirahman Abdi was involved in an incident Sunday morning.

The SIU investigates whenever there is a death, serious injury or allegation of sexual assault involving police in the province. five investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.
