SIU investigating scene in Oakville

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating an early morning dispute that left a 40-year-old man in Oakville seriously injured.

Halton police officers attended an apartment building in the area of Speers Road and Kerr Street at around 4:00 a.m. They were called to investigate a dispute with a cab driver.

Officers were given permission to enter a 2nd floor unit were they met with the man. Shortly after he fled to the balcony where he then fell to the ground. The man was transported to Hamilton General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The SIU took over this case. They are a agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
