SIU investigating head-on crash involving OPP cruiser in Haldimand County

The Special Investigations Unit has been called to investigate a crash involving an OPP cruiser.

The head-on collision happened on Haldimand Road 9, south of Caledonia, around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

It involved a pickup truck and a marked OPP cruiser.

Both drivers were taken to Hamilton General Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police closed Haldimand Road 9 between 5^th Line and York Road for the investigation.

The SIU is called whenever there is an incident involving police that resulted in death, serious injury, or allegations of sexual assault.
