SIU clears police

Ontario’s police watchdog has cleared two peel regional police officers for the shooting that killed a 24 year-old man back in November.

Terrence Roopchand died after being shot when he allegedly drove his car towards one of the officers.

Roopchand was taken to hospital with two gunshot wounds and died later on.

The director of the Special Investigations Unit says the officers were justified in opening fire and there are no reasonable grounds to charge them.
