SISO head surrenders
The RCMP has confirmed that former Settlement and Integration Services Organization executive Morteza Jafarpour has turned himself into police.
Jarfarpour and former executive Robert Salama are accused of using the charity to defraud the federal government of as much as $4 million between 2008 and 2010.
The now-defunct Hamilton organization provided settlement assistance and other services to immigrants, but closed its doors more than a year ago.
Morteza is expected to be in a Hamilton bail court Friday afternoon.
