He was known for his inspiring power ballads, and leaves behind a legacy of great soft rock.

Musician Eric Carmen died over the weekend. Today, his wife Amy released a statement.

The 74-year-old started off as the frontman for “The Raspberries” in the 1970’s, and then trail blazed himself into a famous solo career, with 13 solo songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including three in the top 10.

A few of those hit songs can be found in some of your favourite TV shows and movies, which include chart-toppers like “Hungry Eyes” and “All By Myself.”
