Another glitch as the province prepares for next month’s Pan Am games: stickers used to mark temporary HOV lanes are peeling off.

The lanes are being set up to help ease traffic congestion during the event which will see thousands of athletes and visitors descend on Hamilton, Toronto and other parts of the Golden Horseshoe. Ontario’s transportation ministry is aware of the problem and says the paint will be replaced this week if the weather cooperates.

The temporary high-occupancy vehicle lanes will be in place from June 29th to August 18th, from 5 am to 11 pm on all major routes in and out of Toronto. During the Pan Am games the lanes will be limited to vehicles carrying three or more occupants. For the Parapan Am games, the lanes will be limited to vehicles carrying two or more passengers.

The Pan Am games will take place from July 10 to 26, and the Parapan Am games from August 7 to 15.
