Siemens closing it’s doors

This is a bad day for 550 workers at the Siemens Canada plant in Hamilton as it closes its doors for good.

It’s closing it’s doors for good Friday.

Most of the jobs there have gone to Charlotte, North Carolina which offered millions of dollars in tax breaks, grants and loans.

Workers in Hamilton have known this day was coming for about a year.

The plant, which made gas turbines, has been a fixture in Hamilton for over a century.
