[projekktor id=’22212′]
Saturday is small business Saturday and shops all across Canada are taking part in an initiative called “Shop the Neighbourhood.”
It’s an annual initiative by Yellow Pages that aims to encourage people to support small businesses through local shopping.
Saturday’s event is strategically placed smack in the middle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to give local shops a piece of the Christmas pie.
Shoppers ditched the malls and made their way to local shops like the ones in downtown Dundas which have put on their “Shop the Neighbourhood” sales.
Small businesses make up of 50% of Canada’s gross domestic product and benefit the community in so many ways.
With the Canadian dollar trading at 75 cents us it just makes sense to spend your money here at home.
Most of the deals are running all weekend long.
