Shooting on Simcoe Street

Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Hamilton.

Police tape surrounded a home on Simcoe Street, near James Street North, this afternoon.

Reports say a 17 year old male was shot in the foot and taken to hospital. There are reports of a black male, wearing all black, entering through the victim’s back door.

Hamilton Police say the suspect fled on foot. The victim’s injuries aren’t life threatening, and an investigation is ongoing.
