The man accused of killing a Hamilton teacher will be back in court next week.
Shane Shakeshaft is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jenna Gazzola. They both lived on the ninth floor of an apartment building on Forest avenue.
Twenty-seven year-old Shakeshaft appeared in court briefly via videolink yesterday and another date was set for next week.
Police say there was no sign of any relationship between the two, beyond being neighbours.
Thirty-four year old Gazzola was a teacher at St. Charles Adult and Continuing Education in Hamilton.
Two family members were in court for the hearing, and were clearly emotional when her accused killed appeared.
Her funeral will take place tomorrow.
