Sgt. Ryan Russell murder trial

A paramedic testifying Thursday at the trial of a man accused of killing Toronto Police Sergeant Ryan Russell says she thought the man was disturbed.

This comes after the court viewed images from the dashboard camera of Russell’s cruiser Wednesday. EMS worker Shannon Willis testified that when she responded to the call back in January 2011, she saw Richard Kachkar yelling at her about shots being fired and something about the Taliban. Willis says her impression of Kachkar was that he was emotionally disturbed, not on drugs or alcohol. Kachkar has pleaded not guilty to first degree murder in Russell’s death.
