Sexual assault charges laid

A Hamilton man has been arrested for sexual assault after a face-to-face meeting with a 23 year old woman he met on an internet dating website.

The two first met in August and kept minimal contact but eventually exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet at the victim’s home on Oriole Crescent near Britannia Avenue.

Police say he sexually assaulted her but she was able to get away. Investigators add that when she returned, the man banged on her door and threatened to harm her.

Maninder Behal, 24, is charged.
