Daniel Boyer from the Oakville Fire Department says the smoke from the fire was going through the building’s ventilation system, causing the workers to have issues with breathing.

Boyer also says the fire started in a furnace that is used to heat aluminum oxide pellets.

Several units from the fire department responded to the scene due to the extreme heat of the blaze, with crews rotating through the scene.
