Several Charges Laid in Fight in St. Catharines
St. Catharines Man Arrested and Charged with Multiple Gun and Drug Related Offences
On Saturday December 22, 2012, at about 9:10 PM, members of the Niagara Regional Police responded to the area of Carlton Street and Vine Street in the city of St. Catharines for the report of a male carrying a gun.
Investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between two males escalated into an incident where one of the males produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim.
Fortunately, there were no injuries during this incident.
The males were not known to each other.
The accused male, identified as 24-year-old St. Catharines resident James Rice, was arrested a short distance away after a brief foot pursuit.
Police are attempting to identify a second male who may have witnessed the incident.
A total of 21 gun, drug and breach related criminal charges were laid in relation to this incident.
