Seven West Nile cases in Hamilton
Hamilton Public health says there are seven human cases of West Nile virus in the city.
Officials say 28 mosquito pools have tested positive for the virus this summer, mostly in the lower east end of Hamilton.
People are asked to take extra precautions to avoid mosquitoes, including wearing long sleeves and pants, and dumping stagnant water.
Human cases of the virus have also been reported in Niagara, Halton, Toronto and Windsor this summer. In total, there have been 82 confirmed or probable cases in the province, which is the hardest hit of all.
