Service begins at West Harbour GO station

GO trains begin making regular stops at Hamilton’s new West Harbour station this morning, even though many of the station’s facilities won’t be complete until next year.

Two trains in the morning and afternoon will take commuters to Toronto’s Union Station in just over an hour, but commuters will have to find a way to get to the station without needing to park a car. The parking garage has yet to be completed.

Metrolinx is predicting about 200 people will use the station at first — just slightly more than will fit on a single train coach.

Additional trains will be serving the station during the Pan Am Games.
