Serious crash in Vaughan

A man critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Vaughan has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The 21-year-old man was airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened this morning at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Clark Avenue. Six other people were sent to hospital. At least two people were trapped in their vehicles.

An Ornge air ambulance was called to the scene and had to land in the parking lot of a nearby shopping centre.

Seven vehicles were involved, including an SUV that ended up hitting a hydro pole.
