Serious crash on Highway 6 in Flamborough

Two southbound lanes of Highway 6 near Safari road in Flamborough were closed after a transport truck crashed into a hydro pole Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1 pm a fuel tanker stopped to turn into a gas station when the transport truck travelling behind it wasn’t able to stop in time and turned into the ditch taking down a hydro pole. The driver was trapped inside the truck with wires sparking around him. Fire crews were able to rescue him and he was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

OPP say driver inattention appears to be the cause.
