Sentence in Milton toddler death

The grandmother of a Milton toddler who died in a sweltering car this past summer has received a suspended sentence, plus two years probation.
52-year old Leslie MacDonald pled guilty Wednesday to failing to provide the necessities of life, after leaving 23-month old Maximus huyskens in her car on a June day when the temperature reached 30 degrees. MacDonald, who is deaf, was supposed to take Maximus to daycare, but instead, drove home thinking she had dropped him off. Then she didn’t notice her grandson in the back seat when she moved her car in the middle of the day. It wasn’t until she drove to his daycare to pick Maximus up that she was told he had never arrived. That’s when she found him dead in the back seat.
