Seniors bank scam in Halton

Halton police are warning the public about a “banking investigator scam” that is targeting female seniors.

Over 100 complaints have been reported with victims losing a total of half a million dollars.

The fraudsters, who say they’re from different financial companies, call seniors and ask for their help to catch a bank employee that’s stealing money and ask them to give them over $5,000.

Police are reminding people to never give out personal information on the phone.
