Self/less is a psychological sci-fi thriller directed by Tarsem Singh (Mirror Mirror). The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley, Matthew Goode, Michelle Dockery and Victor Garber.

In this provocative psychological science fiction thriller, an extremely wealthy man (Academy Award® Winner Ben Kingsley) dying from cancer undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man (Ryan Reynolds). But all is not as it seems when he starts to uncover the mystery of the body’s origin and the organization that will kill to protect its cause.

Coincidentally, Reynolds already has some experience in the body-swap genre in the 2011 film The Change-Up. In that one though it wasn’t science that allowed the swap, but peeing in a magical, wish-granting fountain. If you’re afraid this movie will just be full of Ryan Reynolds doing his best Ben Kingsley impression, have no fear. In an interview with Screen Rant, the Vancouver native explained how the two actors approached the swap. “Ben and I spoke early on and decided we weren’t going to be doing impressions of each other in any way, shape, or form. It was about trying to capture that essence of being at that crossroads between two completely polarized personalities.”

Self/less is rated 14A.
