Peel police have charged a second suspect in the murder of an international student who was working as a food delivery driver in Mississauga last summer.

On July 9, 24-year-old Gurvinder Nath was making a delivery in the area of Britannia Road and Creditview Road around 2:10 a.m. when he was confronted by unknown suspects in an attempted carjacking that turned physical.

Police say the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, leaving him on the side of the road with life-threatening injuries.

Nath was taken to a trauma centre where he later succumbed to his injuries.

On Thursday, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Brampton, where they located both the second suspect and a firearm.

As a result, 21-year-old Jazaine Kerrhas was arrested and faces charges of second-degree murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless storage of a firearm.

The second arrest follows the November announcement from Peel police that a youth had been charged with second-degree murder in the case.
