Second mountain access closed

Hamilton mountain residents have one less way to get down the escarpment.

One month after the Queen Street Hill was closed for reconstruction, the Sherman Cut has been shut down to traffic. But unlike the Beckett Drive project, this closure will only last the weekend.

Crews will be removing the Mountain Park Drive bridge over the cut. As well the street is being rebuilt and a new storm sewer rebuilt. A new bridge is expected to be completed by October.

The Sherman Cut is scheduled to reopen Monday evening at 6.

The Sherman Access remains open as are the Claremont and Kenilworth Accesses and the Jolley Cut.
