Search scaled back for missing boater

The search for a missing boater in Lake Ontario was scaled back on Sunday.

Niagara police began the search late Friday night for 47-year-old Ivan Batusic of Burlington.

They were notified by Trenton’s Rescue Coordination Centre that Batusic didn’t return to the Fifty Point Marina.

It’s believed he was on Lake Ontario in the Grimsby area when a thunderstorm rolled in.

On Saturday his boat was found near the Jordan Harbour.

The Canadian Coast Guard handed the search over to Niagara police.

Anyone with information on his disappearance is asked to contact police.
