Hamilton police and neighbouring emergency crews are diligently continuing their search on Lake Ontario for a 14-year-old boy who has been missing since Saturday afternoon.

The teenager disappeared around 2:30 p.m. while he and some friends were out on an inflatable on the water along Beach Boulevard.

Although the police have not officially released the teen’s name, a touching memorial at the scene bears the words, “I love you Malcolm forever and always,” signed by mom.

Three boys who were with the missing teen when he went under approached the CHCH cameraman but did not want to speak on camera.

However, they did mention that their friend was not a good swimmer, and the waves on Saturday were as high as 10 feet.

To aid in the search efforts, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre has provided Hamilton police with current patterns in the last 48 hours, which will be helpful to the force in identifying potential search areas.
