Scotiabank Giller Prize shortlist announced

The Scotiabank Giller Prize shortlist has been announced.

This is the 27th edition of the prize, which celebrates Canadian fiction.

Here is the shortlist:

• Gil Adamson, for her novel “Ridgerunner”
• David Bergen, for his short story collection “Here in the Dark”
• Shani Mootoo, for her novel “Polar Vortex”
• Emily St. John Mandel, for her novel “The Glass Hotel”
• Souvankham Thammavongsa, for her short story collection “How to Pronounce Knife”
