It was a big mess on the QEW and in east Hamilton just in time for the evening holiday shopping rush. Around 5 o’clock, several cars collided on the Burlington Skyway, adding at an already slow drive caused by another crash on the Red Hill Valley Parkway.

This was the scene earlier on the Burlington Skyway. As you can see lanes were reduced and only a few cars were able to get through at a time. There’s no word of any serious injuries but the information is still coming in.

Now there was another slowdown not far from the Skyway on the QEW near the Red Hill Valley Parkway.

A transport truck and a school bus crashed in to each other Thursday afternoon on the Red Hill Valley Parkway near the Barton Street exit ramp.

Luckily, there were no children on board the bus. But the bus driver suffered minor injuries. Police say the truck driver is ok. The southbound lanes were closed from the QEW to Barton Street for about 5 hours while the Ministry of Transportation and Hamilton police cleaned up fluid and pieced together what happened.
