Saving the swans

Nearly 100 years after being completely wiped out of the province, a group of volunteers successfully re-introduced the trumpeter swan into Ontario in the 1980’s.

30 years later LaSalle Park in Burlington has become one of the species’ most important winter habitats, but the Ontario Trumpeter Swan Restoration Group is now concerned about some plans the city of Burlington, has which they say could once again threaten the population. Melissa Raftis explains.
