Sanford child sex suspect in court

(Updated)
29-year old John Adam Greene appeared before a judge Tuesday morning after turning himself in to police Monday afternoon. Greene is facing multiple charges including — abduction, aggravated sexual assault and threatening death. Residents of a building on Sanford Avenue say a girl under the age of 10 was attacked Saturday afternoon.
He was brought in in a wheelchair by four officers. Another three — including court room police were in close proximity. He had on a white jumpsuit, blue footies, and his feet were shackled. He also wore a black hockey helmet for his own safety; we were told it was so he couldn’t harm himself.
The moment he entered the room, he began to disrupt the proceedings verbally. He swore freely as he spoke and referred to the judge as ‘eh, Miss’. Many times he spoke over her and wouldn’t let her finish her thoughts. He was frustrated by the helmet and told her he couldn’t see her because of it, and at times accused the officers of bearing down too forcefully on his head. He also kept telling the judge he needed his medication, saying ‘I havent’ been on them for months’. He also went on to say that he had even checked himself into a hospital to get help. With that, the judge said she was making a note on his file for him to be able to get his medication. At one point, he also asked her if she wanted to see his body, because he said quote: ‘because of my charges, they are stomping on me’.
Greene’s lawyer Larissa Fedak wasn’t present. The judge told him we was free to call her from jail and suggested he do that before Thursday. Greene’s next court appearance is set for this Thursday afternoon via video link.
