Nineteen-year-old Sam Oosterhoff has clinched the nomination in the new Niagara West riding and will represent the Progressive Conservatives in next year’s provincial election.

Oosterhoff secured his spot Tuesday night with a decisive 903 to 313 vote advantage over longtime PC party member and regional councillor Tony Quirk.

The teen became the youngest MPP in Ontario’s history by winning last year’s by-election in Niagara West-Glanbrook. The riding is one of several being re-distributed for next year’s election.
