If you’ve ever wanted to donate to the Salvation Army’s Christmas kettle campaign but didn’t have any change or cash on you, not to worry.

The Salvation Army is testing portable debit and credit machines at two malls in Hamilton this December.

“So many people over the last few years have said to us, we don’t have any cash, we can’t put anything into the kettle for you,” said Dan Millar,

So that’s why this year you can donate to the kettle campaign via debit.

In Hamilton, there are two locations that have debit machines, Eastgate Square and Lime Ridge mall and if you’d like to donate online, that’s also an option.

The fundraising goal this year in Hamilton is $410,000, the same as last year. But last year fell a bit short at $402,000.

“We hope the debit machine, what people asked for, will help bring that extra in,” said Millar.
