Saltfleet high school reopens after closure due to power outage

Saltfleet District High School and its childcare centre are open today after a power outage forced it to close its doors for one day.

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) said in a memo the power has been restored by means of a temporary generator until permanent repairs can be made.

The past weekend’s weather event and loss of power at the school also damaged the transformer on site.

The HWDSB said repairs are expected to be complete by May 30.
