Sailing instructor back in court on sex charges

An Ancaster sailing instructor facing numerous sexual assault charges made a brief appearance in a Milton court this morning.

Sean Hewson, 31, was dressed in a blue striped dress shirt. His parents were present in the court room.

Hewson faces a total of 21 charges. He’s accused of sexually assaulting teenaged boys between 2003 and 2009.

Hewson was the head of the Bronte Harbour Yacht Club, and an instructor at the Burlington Sailing and Boating Club. He also worked at the Oakville Yacht Squadron, and the Oakville YMCA for a few months in 2006.

A new court date has been set for July 30th.
