Russian troops advance to the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital as the Ukraine President calls on the west to do more

Russian and Ukrainian forces remain engaged in heavy fighting in the east of the country, and in the northern suburbs of the capital city Kyiv.

Ukraine’s president is calling on the West to do more, as many Ukrainians desperately try to get out of their country.

Some are staying put, as the outnumbered Ukrainian military holds off the Russian onslaught.
